Annual Gift
Your gift to the Annual Fund provides vital support to the AKG in our daily work – from producing exhibitions to the care and research of our collection. In lieu of a designated area of support, your Annual Fund gift will be designated to the area of greatest need to uphold the mission, vision and values of the Buffalo AKG.
Exhibitions
Exhibition support brings world-class art directly to Buffalo’s doorstep. Your gift makes it possible for the AKG to showcase artists from around the globe, both challenging and inspiring diverse audiences. AKG exhibitions spark dialogue and offer meaningful experiences that enrich and transform people’s lives in our community, our nation, and the world.
Public Art
Established in 2013, the Buffalo AKG Art Museum's Public Art Initiative is the longest running public art initiative of a fine arts museum in the United States. Through its mission to empower artists, inspire viewers, and strengthen a sense of our shared landscape with highly accessible art, Western New York communities have been enriched with the installation of more than 60 works to date.
Learning & Creativity and Community Engagement
Since the Albright Knox Art Museum opened the doors of its first permanent building in 1905, generations of Western New York residents have grown with the museum and its programs. From studio art classes to free school tours for K-12 students, the Buffalo AKG maintains its position as a pillar in the community.
